A Celebration of Japanese Summers

Singapore, 11 April 2014 – Delight in the rich flavours of a Japanese summer with a new eight-course kaiseki dinner at Keyaki. Available till 31 August, this omakase experience is priced at $170 and presents authentic Japanese cuisine enhanced with premium seasonal ingredients imported from Japan. Ripe with the fresh aromas of summer, highlights crafted by Master Chef Hiroshi Ishii include Grilled Wagyu Beef marinated in Miso with simmered Maitake Mushrooms and Yuzu, Hamo (Pike Eel) Teapot Soup and Grilled Sazae Tsuboyaki (Turban Shell) with Quail Egg. The meal concludes on a fragrant note with sun-ripened Musk Melon or plump Japanese Strawberries lush with summer sweetness.

“I’ve always identified summers in Japan with the rich produce that blossom in warmer months and the vibrancy of festivals that celebrate the return of summer. Drawing inspiration from this, I have created an omakase experience that incorporates the lush flavours of ingredients such as Sazae (Turban Shell), Hamo (Pike Eel) and Maitake Mushrooms in a culinary tribute to Japanese summers. As our kaiseki presentations are crafted with the finest seasonal ingredients imported from Japan, I tend to refresh our menu throughout the summer season to ensure the quality of the dishes remains consistent.” says Chef Ishii.
