Mid-Autumn Blooms at Pan Pacific Singapore

Singapore, 27 May 2014 – Enjoy a colourful Mid-Autumn Festival (中秋节) this year as Hai Tien Lo (海天楼) unveils four innovative flavours of snowskin mooncakes to mark the widely celebrated Chinese festival. Each flavour presents a divine combination of fruit, nuts and floral ingredients encased in a delicate pastel coloured snowskin. The mooncakes will be available for purchase from 8 August to 8 September at Pan Pacific Singapore

Created by Chef Lai Tong Ping (黎东平), savour the subtle fragrance from Melon Seeds with Oolong and Chrysanthemum or the citrus accents of Hazelnuts with Honey and Grapefruit that is best complemented with Chinese tea. Alternatively, guests can try a creamier rendition of Almonds with Custard and Longan or Pistachio Nuts with Osmanthus and Chinese Herbs for a slight salty finish amidst the sweet combinations.

Apart from the new flavours, Hai Tien Lo’s signature Mini Mao Shan Wang Durian Snowskin that has gained immense popularity since its first introduction will still be available. Not forgetting those with a preference for traditional mooncakes, Hai Tien Lo also has a selection of four baked varieties. The White Lotus Seed Paste with Double Yolk and White Lotus Seed Paste with Single Yolk offers an indulgent treat, encased in a golden brown skin. Guests who prefer a nutty finish and texture can choose from the White Lotus Seed Paste with Macadamia Nuts or the lighter flavoured Traditional Mixed Nuts with White Lotus Paste.

Chef Lai says, “Mid-Autumn Festival is centred on joyous family reunions and this year, we wanted to introduce something that will appeal to all generations. I was inspired to use flowers, nuts and fruits for the snowskin mooncakes as these add fragrance and texture to the filling.”

Starting from 8 August until 8 September, guests can purchase the mooncakes from Hai Tien Lo. Online orders from Pacific Marketplace (pacificmarketplace.sg) can be made from 8 July onwards. Guests who order before 31 July will also enjoy an exclusive 15 per cent savings on all orders.
