The Sales Manager – Catering Sales & Event Services is responsible to source, secure and contract local corporate catering and meetings and ensuring that business is turned over properly and in a timely manner. He/She is expected to achieve catering revenue goals by actively securing, up-selling each event for revenue maximization.

Our Expectations:

  • Work closely with the Sales team to generate local catering and meeting leads with close follow-up and monitoring of leads leading to conversion.
  • Identify, qualify and solicit new or repeated local catering and meeting business to achieve personal and hotel revenue goals.
  • Work with Director of Catering Sales and Event Services to create, implement and execute annual sales plan addressing revenue, customers and sales activity plan based on owned portfolio to achieve the overall catering segment.  Also assist in preparation of monthly catering forecast, budget and month end reports.
  • Stay updated with current and future competitor’s performance, product enhancement, pricing and sales programs and deploys resources to efficiently optimize catering revenue.
  • Close monitoring of owned catering account revenue and business production. Adjust strategies and key actions to achieve the targeted goals. 
  • Implement and execute sales plan addressing revenue, customers, and sales activities based on owned portfolio to achieve catering budget.
  • Verify events' arrangement with the clients and ensure that information is thoroughly cascaded and shared with the Operations team and follow through the event management flow process from the initial stage until the end of the event or group departure. 
  • Gain understanding of the property’s primary target customer and service expectations; serve our customer/guest through understanding their business, needs and concerns with a view to offer best solution both prior to, and during the event.
  • Monitor the effective resolution of guest issues that arise as a result of the sales process by creating mechanisms to channel issues to property leadership and/or other appropriate stakeholders. 

Talent Profile

We are looking for a self-motivated 'hunter' with excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as good understanding of catering trends and market.  You should have an eye for detail yet creative and nimble with ability to adapt to ever changing requirements and needs of customers. If you possess a Diploma or above in Sales & Marketing and have at least three to five years of sales experience in wedding, social, lifestyle or local catering & meetings segment and events services,  write in to have a chat with us!
