Bobby’s BBQ Truck, located at Pan Pacific Perth, is calling on the community to drive awareness and funds for those sleeping rough on Perth’s streets. Together with Ruah Community Services, an organisation that drives social change in Perth, Bobby’s will be running a series of initiatives during Homelessness Week, which takes place from Monday 1 August – Sunday 7 August.

The series of initiatives taking place during Homelessness Week comes off the back of unique partnership established between Ruah and Pan Pacific Perth in 2020 at the height of the pandemic.

When the hotel opened its doors to the city’s most vulnerable rough sleepers, they also began selling wildly popular Bacon and Egg Rolls on a pop-up barbeque on Adelaide Terrace. Customers could pay it forward by buying a meal for someone who couldn't afford it themselves.

Complete with WA free-range eggs and 20 kilos of delicious bacon donated by Paul from McGloughin Butchers, the hotel’s bacon and egg rolls soon became the talk of the town. When Gary Dunkerley of Osbourne Motor Bodies got wind of the story, he generously donated a custom-made, 50s inspired food truck to Pan Pacific Perth and the rest, as they say, is history. Bobby’s BBQ Truck was born, helping house the homeless one bacon and egg roll at a time.
