Thrill Seeker or Cultural Explorer: Choose Your Own Adventure at Pan Pacific Whistler
May 2, 2017 (Whistler, B.C.): The entire country is celebrating Canada's 150th birthday this year, and the team at Pan Pacific Whistler are inviting visitors from around the globe to join in the fun. This summer, both the Pan Pacific Whistler Mountainside and Pan Pacific Whistler Village Centre properties will debut two limited edition packages - The Thrill Seeker and The Cultural Explorer - that allow guests to choose their own travel style from a curated collection of Whistler's best adrenaline-packed activities and rich cultural experiences.
Relaxed and approachable like the surrounding village, the Pan Pacific Village Centre and Mountainside properties are committed to elevating the guest experience - and that's why the new packages offer distinctive Whistler experiences for different personalities. The Thrill Seeker is geared towards adrenaline junkies, featuring three nights' accommodation alongside heart-pumping activities like a four-hour Via Ferrata Climb with Mountain Skills Academy & Adventures to the peak of Whistler Mountain; a ride on the 90-minute Sasquatch Ziptrek Ecotours - North America's longest zipline - where guests zipline directly over the Fitzsimmons Valley to Whistler Mountain; a full-day Elaho Whitewater Rafting Expedition that journeys past hanging glaciers, cascading waterfalls and two mighty class IV rivers; and more. The Thrill Seeker package starts at $1,347 CAD (plus tax, based on double occupancy).
Culture buffs will adore exploring Whistler's artsy side with The Cultural Explorer package. In addition to three nights' accommodation, the package includes a pair of tickets to the recently opened Audain Art Museum, an architectural marvel that exhibits an extensive collection of B.C.'s finest art; and a pair of tickets to the Squamish Lil'wat Cultural Centre, which relates the stories of the region's Aboriginal peoples. Guests can also partake in a Peak2Peak Gondola sightseeing experience, as well as the Whistler Museum's Valley of Dreams Walking excursion, which provides an historical overview of the resort town's bygone pioneer life. The Cultural Explorer package starts at $747 CAD (plus tax, based on double occupancy). Both packages launch on June 1, and are available until October 9, 2017; note that all activities are weather dependent.
For visiting and local foodies looking to indulge in the country's favourite bites, Dubh Linn Gate located at Mountainside is featuring the ultimate Canadian burger in celebration of the occasion. Fittingly titled The 1867, Executive Chef Victor Pulleyblank has created a national treasure of poutine, meets burger, meets bacon - complete with mouth-watering maple glazed beef, onion gravy and cheese curds. Available May 16 through Canada Day, The 1867 will be featured every Tuesday for $17.50.
