Seattle Points of Interest | Pan Pacific Seattle | Our Team Recommends

Our Team Recommends

Guests of the Pan Pacific can learn about Seattle’s past and present traditions while visiting the many eclectic museums and exhibit offerings in town. The South Lake Union neighbourhood is home to important historical Seattle points of interest, including the city’s first green space, Denny Park and The Center for Wooden Boats, on the shore of the lake. With strong cultural influences in arts and music, the neighbourhood is home to the Museum of History and Industry (MOHAI) and MoPOP, the Museum of Pop Culture. Our unique city continues to thrive, offering modern additions such as the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and Chihuly Garden and Glass.  During your visit, we hope you enjoy the opportunity to explore the rich heritage which surrounds you!

After moving to Seattle earlier this year, finding its hidden gems is one of my favourite pastimes.  I love to find classics of literary giants at the Lamplight book store in Pike Place Market.  After seeing the beautiful glasswork at the Chihuly Garden and Glass Museum, I treat myself to a delicious French macaron at Lady Yum and a piping hot cup of coffee at Herkimer, both Seattle based shops.   Taking an evening stroll along the Cheshiahud Lake Union Loop in South Lake Union makes me appreciate the beauty and nature of Seattle as I watch the sun change to a violet prism.

Being an aviation enthusiast all my life, made my relocation to Beautiful Seattle even more exciting! This is Boeing Country and what privilege it is to be able to visit the Museum of Flight. Just 20 minutes away at Boeing Field, this one of a kind aviation museum and one of the world’s leading collections of aircrafts and artifacts including a Concorde, the very first 747 or 787 Dreamliner and a former Air Force One. It houses exhibitions from both World Wars, origins of Civil Aviation and Boeing Company and a pavilion just about Spacecraft. It is uniquely curated with changing exhibitions and if you are lucky you might even get to witness a test flight of the newest Boeing jet at the active Boeing Airfield. There is always an opportunity to smell jet fuel and hear raring engines taking off!

When I want to center myself and enjoy the outdoors without leaving the city, I walk through the Seattle Arboretum and Japanese Garden. It's a peaceful, relaxing experience. When I want to turn up the volume, I go to a concert at Climate Pledge Arena or check out the bars, small music venues, and restaurants in Capitol Hill. There is never anything NOT going on there. I definitely recommend coming back to our hotel for a quiet night's sleep after a night out there!

Seattle has some beautiful urban parks. Most notably Volunteer Park, which is a short Uber ride from the Pan Pacific, or a 43-minute uphill walk for avid strollers.  Volunteer Park was founded in 1901 and is over 48 acres, which include the Seattle Asian Art Museum, a conservatory and a water tower with an observation deck.  Adjacent to the Park is Seattle's Historic Lakeview Cemetery where many notable Seattle pioneers and celebrities were laid to rest including Arthur DennyJohn NordstromBruce Lee and Brandon Lee.
