Discover the Local Art Scene

Whenever you get a chance to venture beyond your hometown or home country, you’d want to explore the places of attraction in the new destination. Besides indulging in new food, and going on shopping sprees, you can also get to know more about the city’s culture. The easiest way to do that is to immerse into the arts. Curated by Destination Insights, your personal travel insider, here are some suggestions on some of the must-see places in Ho Chi Minh City.

1. A O Show

Address
Saigon Opera House - 07 Cong Truong Lam Son, District 1
Phone Number

Opening Hours
6:00pm

The A O Show, which is pronounced as the Ahhh! Ohhh! Show, is an interesting mix of the new and the old, combining elements of Vietnamese music, dance, and Cirque du Soleil. You’ll never know what’s going to happen next. One minute, the performers are flying around the stage using only a few ribbons tied to the ceiling, and their own brute strength, the next, they’ve formed a breakdance circle and are using a BMX bike to jump over performers lying on the ground. The show, unlike most typical performances, will always leave you in awe of what you’re seeing.

And although they are notorious for their high starting prices, they are also great spots for purchasing small souvenirs – you can even practise your bargaining skills.

3. Golden Dragon Water Puppet Show
