Our Commitment to Sustainability

Our Environment

We take pride in adopting environmentally responsible initiatives designed to conserve natural resources and promote sustainable living.

  • To reduce plastic waste, the resort has introduced reusable glass water bottles, refilled on-site at the resort and provided in all guest rooms,  eliminating approximately 299,952 disposable plastic bottles each year.

  • Guests are encouraged to participate in our towel and linen reuse programme, which conserves water and reduces energy consumption.

  • Motion sensors have been installed in all guestrooms to enable intelligent temperature control and efficient use of energy, depending on the occupancy.

  • All guestrooms are equipped with an energy-saving feature that automatically switches off the air conditioning when the balcony door is opened. This helps reduce electricity usage and ensures a more efficient and environmentally responsible cooling system.

  • Premium shower amenities from APPELLES are presented in refillable pump bottles, reducing approximately 116,160 single-use miniature bottles annually.

  • In addition, our large floor-to-ceiling windows are designed to maximise natural light in guest rooms and function spaces, reducing the need for artificial lighting and overall energy consumption.

  • In partnership with Lembaga Pembangunan Langkawi (LADA), Persatuan Chung Hwa Langkawi, Lions Clubs Langkawi, and Lions Clubs Wilayah Utara (Penang), our associates recently took part in a mangrove restoration initiative to protect Langkawi’s vital coastal ecosystems.

Our People & Community

  • During the holy month of Ramadan, we had the pleasure of hosting 30 students and 12 teachers from SMK Kelibang for a berbuka puasa (breaking of fast) session at the resort — a celebration of togetherness and community spirit.
  • In partnership with the Masjid Temonyong Committee, our associates prepared and distributed 300 packs of bubur lambuk to the local community. The resort managed the meal preparations, while Masjid Temonyong provided the venue for the distribution.
  • In collaboration with Hospital Sultanah Maliha, Klinik Kesihatan Padang Mat Sirat, and Klinik Kesihatan Temonyong, we organised a Health Day for our internal staff, featuring a blood donation drive, free health screenings, and health talks. The initiative reflects our commitment to the well-being of our people, promoting a healthier and more sustainable workplace while encouraging a culture of care and community support. The event successfully collected 80 blood donations and provided health screenings for 50 participants.
  • Through our Warisan Walk initiative, launched in September 2025, we provide a platform for local artisans and small businesses to showcase their crafts — from batik painting and handmade jewellery to traditional kuih and delicacies.
  • PARKROYAL Langkawi Resort’s architecture and design pay tribute to Langkawi’s identity — the “Island of the Eagle.” The resort draws inspiration from the grace and strength of the eagle, reflected through flowing lines and elegant curves that mirror a bird in flight.
  • Locally inspired details bring Langkawi’s rich culture to life. You’ll find Malay-inspired motifs and wall designs throughout the resort, from the lobby to our all-day dining restaurant, CASSIA — creating a warm sense of place for every guest.
  • Our resort is thoughtfully designed to make the most of natural light and fresh air, helping to reduce energy use while creating a comfortable environment. Native landscaping and advanced irrigation systems help preserve Langkawi’s natural beauty, allowing our surroundings to thrive sustainably with minimal environmental impact.
