Opened in 2015, Nay Pyi Taw’s National Museum houses a variety of Burmese art, such as traditional paintings from various time periods, contemporary artworks, as well as iconic masterpieces. Feast your eyes on the magnificent display of precious jewels at the city’s Gems Museum, situated in the Zabuthiri Township. Here, there is no shortage of rubies, sapphires, jades, and pearls. In fact, it is home to the largest pearl in the country, so this destination is clearly a must-visit.

This may not be your typical art museum, but the Defence Services Museum’s display of historical photographs, and various monuments makes it worth a trip. Look through photographs of the Manepalaw battle, the Wanpansan air attack, and the Sisiwan-Tarpan battle, as you learn about the Air Force, and how pilots are trained.

With a total of 31 stunning buildings, the sheer size of the 800-acre Hluttaw complex in Nay Pyi Taw makes it a grandiose work of art in itself. They are open to visitors with free admission. However, permission must be sought from the Ministry at least five days in advance.
