Be transported into a wine lover’s heaven, just 25kms or 23 minutes drive from the PARKROYAL. Sample wines from this famous region that will tantalise your palate whilst sharing a platter of scrumptious wood fired pizzas with your companions. Drive yourself or take one of the many wine tours available that will pick you up direct from PARKROYAL's door. This area is literally full of wineries tempting you to sample their fare and the views are simply stunning.
2. Macedon Ranges
The Macedon Ranges are simply magnificent with spectacular views of Melbourne from the vantage point of the famous Memorial Cross Lookout. Enjoy the stunning old mansions with perfectly preserved gardens that are open for viewing during the Open Garden Scheme’s scheduled open days. Mount Macedon has long been considered a “foodies” destination of choice with top rate cafes and restaurants making the most of quality local produce to create mouth-watering delicacies to refresh you on your journey. A short 34 minute drive for 47 kms will see you arrive and you may never want to leave.
3. Yarra Valley
Just an hour away by car and you will be transported into another world where you can be as active or relaxed as you choose. The Yarra Valley has something for everyone. From wineries to art galleries, markets, shops and spas, bush trails that go forever, golf courses and wildlife sanctuaries. Take a walk through the beautiful Alowyn Gardens or under the tallest flowering trees in the world at the Yarra Ranges National Park. If you are up for an adventure, try a little trout fishing or maybe hot air ballooning over the valley to experience a bird’s eye view of this beautiful valley.
Rugged and ancient, the Grampians, as they are commonly known, are a rugged sandstone mountain range covered in lush forest growth playing host to an amazingly rich wildlife. It’s the perfect location if you are interested in mountain climbing, bushwalks and nature study. Walking tracks throughout the park provide access to cascading waterfalls, dazzling wildflower displays, Aboriginal rock art sites and panoramic views. Make sure to visit Brambuk, the National Park and Cultural Centre, and experience the Gariwerd dreaming theatre, explore interpretive displays or relax in the bush tucker café. The wonderfully well informed Rangers will escort you on guided bush tucker walk or rock art tours. Located south of Halls Gap township, the centre is open daily from 9am - 5pm except on Christmas Day. 250 kms from the hotel, it is approximately a 3hour drive.
