The beautiful city of Melbourne is consistently ranked as one of the world's most liveable cities, a testament to its high standard of living and diverse demographic mix. As Australia's cultural capital and home to many of the country's largest and oldest cultural institutions, Melbourne is the perfect destination for art and culture enthusiasts with its many galleries, museums and festivals.
The Yarra River, one of the city's icons, provides a picturesque setting for the many leisure activities available. Enjoy an idyllic river cruise or people-watch while you sip coffee at one of the many cafes located along the banks. Also on the south bank is the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, the largest event space in the southern hemisphere, which hosts monthly events, including exhibitions, fairs and concerts, and is directly accessible from many Melbourne city hotels, including the refreshed Pan Pacific Melbourne.
