1. Munch on Fresh Produce From Melbourne’s Farmers’ Markets

Melbourne is teeming with farmers’ markets for the whole family.  

On the third and fifth Saturdays of the month, the Boroondara Farmers’ Market sells fresh produce, eggs, bread and pastries, wine, and honey. Pets and children are welcome to sample its delectable fare at this Victorian Farmers Market Association-accredited event.

Carlton Farmers' Market happens on the first Saturday of each month at Carlton Primary School. Sample from the offerings of 35 farmers, and choose from the freshest meat, fruits, and vegetables. You may also choose to have a picnic in its lovely compound. Don’t forget to bring your own eco-friendly bags, as plastic bags are not provided.

Bring the kids on a roadtrip, starting with a scenic drive along the Great Ocean Road (GOR). Considered one of the world’s best coastal drives, it is a must-do activity here in Victoria.

One of the major stops along the GOR, Port Campbell National Park, is best known for its Twelve Apostles rock formations and Loch Ard Gorge, a 19th century shipwreck site. Kids who are able to climb stairs independently will enjoy the Gibson Steps from which you can walk down to the scenic beach, or the London Bridge viewing areas, among other viewpoints along the Great Ocean Road.

Stop by Port Campbell Visitor Information Centre for traveller tips once you've arrived. A three-hour drive from PARKROYAL Melbourne Airport, the park’s Twelve Apostles Visitor Centre Kiosk is open 10:00am to 4:30pm daily with basic refreshments on sale.
