Journey Strait to Singapore of Yesteryear

Singapore, 4 September 2014— Take a trip back to Singapore of yesteryear with Pacific Marketplace’s new Weekend Peranakan Afternoon Tea Buffet. From 6 September 2014, guests may embark on a culinary journey around the Malay Archipelago on weekends with a presentation of 13 Nonya delights.

Featuring local treats including Crispy Curry Puff and Open-Face Otak Sandwich, the key highlight is the aromatic Traditional Peranakan Chicken Curry served with freshly-baked French Baguette. Asian spices such as cumin and turmeric used to make the rempah paste lend their aromatic lift to the succulent chicken pieces, giving the dish an added dimension in flavour.

End Afternoon Tea on a sweet note with a selection of Pastry Chef Philip Lee’s signature desserts including fragrant Pandan Kaya Cake, Chendol Agar Agar, and Durian Cake. Reminisce over traditional favourites such as Chinese Style Cream Puff, Pandan Chiffon Cake and Red Cherries Coconut Tart that are sure to bring back memories of childhood.
