Celebrating the Transformation of PARKROYAL Penang Resort

Following a MYR55 million refurbishment, PARKROYAL Penang Resort is pleased to announce that our resort has been transformed and guests can look forward to an exciting and brand new experience. The transformation includes refreshed rooms and suites, remodelled lobby area and enhanced outdoor facilities. The makeover was designed by FDAT Architects, creating functional, trendy and contemporary spaces for business and leisure travellers alike.

Refreshed Guestrooms

Our Penang resort now offers 309 brand new guestrooms comprising 284 rooms and 25 suites fitted with new soft furnishing, contemporary bathroom amenities and improved stylish lighting with energy saving elements to provide modern comfort to business and leisure travellers. The interior of the guestroom is designed in a consistent woodtone with selected rooms complemented with “Pinang” screens that can be seen in various part of the resort. The “Pinang” design resembles the Betel Nut to reflect "Pulau Pinang", which literally means Isle of Betel Nut. We have also introduced a new room category, Family Seaview (Two Bedroom), designed with families and groups in mind. These rooms are more spacious than the Family Seaview (One Bedroom), with a private section that allows you to remain close to your loved ones. All guestrooms are now equipped with interactive television, higher speed Internet connectivity and international wall socket. In some guestrooms, PARKROYAL day beds accompanied with bolster and throw pillows are available as well, making it an ideal spot for lounging or indulging in some quiet time by the window or balcony.

Enhanced Arrival Experience and Facilities

Guests can look forward to an elevated arrival experience with our remodelled porte cochere and 24-hour reception. The new reception area is now enhanced with a huge Pinang screen, accompanied with soothing lightings that creates a relaxing ambience. Our swimming pools are also equipped with solar panel and enhanced LED lightings as part of the resort's energy conservation effort.

What's New in Our Restaurants and Bars

Offering a brand new dining concept, our all-day dining outlet, Cinnamon (previously known as Tamarind Brasserie), features bright and fresh interior, serving up authentic local and Asian cuisines. Divided into two sections, Cinnamon offers an air-conditioned seating area which comes with private rooms and outdoor seating with captivating views of our expansive gardens and beautiful shorelines. The flooring of this outdoor dining area is made of vibrant Peranakan-inspired tiles that reminiscent of Penang’s Peranakan heritage. The transformation also extended to Javana Lounge, which has been redesigned with new fittings and fixtures to deliver a relaxing ambience, complete with picturesque views of the resort’s pool and outdoor gardens. The new lounge also presents contemporary design with versatile seating and spacious table tops that are great for working or relaxing.
