Luneta Park Highlights
There are several notable attractions dotted around Luneta Park that are worth exploring. Of these, the most prominent is the Rizal Monument – a 46-metre guarded flagpole that contains the body of José Rizal, a hero of Filipino nationhood who was executed during Spanish colonisation. Nearby, a tableau of eight life-size bronze statue recreates the dramatic final moments of Rizal’s life.
The park’s open air auditorium is another popular attraction within the park and one of Manila’s most vibrant performing arts theatres. The beloved and long-running Concert at the Park series take place here every Sunday evening, offering visitors the chance to watch free live music, theatre and dance performances.
Japanese and Chinese Gardens
At the north side of the grounds, a series of ornamental gardens give Luneta Park its reputation for stunning natural beauty. The ornate Chinese and Japanese gardens faithfully recreate traditional garden settings with flora and fauna native to each respective country, creating a beautiful setting for a sunset stroll.
