Edge is Singapore 'Best Buffet'
Singapore, 27 November 2014— Pan Pacific Singapore’s Edge clinched the ‘Best Buffet’ award at Epicurean Star Award 2014 organised by the Restaurant Association of Singapore (RAS). Held at the Raffles City Convention Centre on 25 November 2014, Edge beat four other contenders and emerged as the winner of the coveted title that was introduced into the competition for the first time this year. The restaurant was one of the fifteen dining establishments recognised that evening from categories ranging from ‘Best Asian Fine Dining’ to ‘Best Café’.
The annual RAS Epicurean Star Award celebrates the top establishments in Singapore’s Food and Beverage (F&B) industry for their exceptional cuisine and dining experiences. Close to 100 restaurants were nominated across 13 categories this year, and shortlisted outlets were assessed by a panel of judges that included Chef Sam Leong, food blogger Ms Maureen Ow from MissTamChiak.com, and food editor of Gourmet Living magazine Ms Jean Cheung, based on their concept, menu and service quality.
Presenting an engaging gastro-tainment dining experience, Edge takes guests on a culinary tour of Singapore, the region and the Pacific Rim. Guests are invited to savour the inspiring creations from seven live food kitchens where they can indulge in a feast for the senses while exploring the medley of delectable Asian and Pacific cuisines including Chinese, Malay, Indian, Singaporean, Thai, Japanese, and Pan Pacific’s signature “Pacific Cuisines”. Only into its second year of operation, Edge has established itself as a prime dining destination with innovative concepts. In addition to the highly-lauded Sunday Champagne Brunch, the award-winning restaurant introduced speciality dining experiences including Cuts@Edge on Tuesday evenings featuring premium meats, Hooked@Edge on Wednesday and Thursday with succulent seafood highlights, and A Long Long Lunch on Saturday afternoons that feature the best of Singaporean culinary favourites.
“During the hotel’s $80 million transformation in 2012, Edge was redesigned to create an epicurean destination for guests where they can enjoy authentic cuisine from the region and around the Pacific. This award is an affirmation of our commitment to provide our guests with memorable hotel experiences through a multi-sensorial journey with food and service from the heart,” said Mr Scott Swank, General Manager of Pan Pacific Singapore.
Established in 1980, RAS works closely with various government bodies and F&B-related associations overseas to develop and propel the local dining scene. With more than 300 members that account for over 1,500 restaurant outlets, the association aims to promote industry development and excellence through championing, promoting and advancing the common needs, interests and aspirations of Singapore’s F&B community.
