The Audio Visual Team Leader is responsible for overseeing the hotel’s daily AV operations, ensuring all events and functions are executed seamlessly and to the highest technical and service standards. This role manages equipment setup, operation, and maintenance, supervises and trains the AV team, and works closely with other departments to deliver smooth, integrated event support. Through strong leadership, technical expertise, and proactive planning, the role ensures reliable AV services that enhance guest satisfaction and event success.

Operations

• Lead and coordinate the AV team to ensure all functions and events run smoothly, meeting the highest service standards.
• Oversee day‑to‑day AV operations including equipment rentals, part‑time/casual labour arrangements, and inventory management.
• Prepare duty rosters, requisition casual labour, and ensure proper training and supervision during operations.
• Cooperate with other departments and organiser to deliver seamless, integrated event support.

Technical Expertise & Event Delivery

• Set up, operate, and troubleshoot AV systems for meetings, conferences, banquets, and special events.
• Install and configure audio-visual equipment such as microphones, speakers, LED Wall, LCD Projector and display monitor for events like Weddings Event and Corporate Events
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues with audio and visual systems, performing repairs or replacements as needed. 
• Provide expert advice to clients and internal stakeholders on optimal AV solutions, incorporating LED walls and lighting control system where applicable.
• Manage installation, programming, and operation of large‑format LED displays, lighting control systems, and integrated AV setups.
• Monitor and update music playlists for functions.

Maintenance & Asset Care

• Conduct regular inspections, servicing, and preventive maintenance of AV equipment in all function spaces.
• Ensure proper upkeep, cleanliness, and organisation of AV workspaces and storerooms.
• Maintain accurate inventory and usage records for all AV, LED, and lighting equipment.
• Oversee repair processes, arrange external servicing when required, and maintain proper documentation.

Financial & Cost Management

• Implement cost‑saving measures in manpower deployment and equipment usage.
• Source competitive quotations for AV equipment purchase, rental, and repair.
• Manage asset disposal and replacement for equipment beyond economical repair.

Customer Service

• Ensure AV setups match Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and adapt to additional client requests.
• Deliver exceptional technical support during live events.
• Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support event success.

Training & Development

• Train the AV team and casual staff in AV, LED, and lighting systems operation.
• Stay updated on industry developments in AV technology, LED displays, and lighting control.
• Attend and contribute to hotel training programmes.

• Minimum Professional Certificate in Audio Visual Engineering
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Audio Visual or hands-on in configuring, setting up all systems of Audio, Video and Lighting.
• Experience in hotel industry will be an advantage.
• Knowledge of troubleshooting Audio Visual issues
• Able to work on rotating shifts and public holidays
