About The Current Exhibit

SEE: The Implicate Order: From Fragmentation to Wholeness
An exhibition by Hilary Lee

In SEE: The Implicate Order, Singapore-based artist Hilary Lee invites viewers on a contemplative journey into the interconnectedness of all things, across time, space, and consciousness. Through her evocative mixed media and collage works, the exhibition explores the delicate balance between seeming opposites, offering a visual meditation on wholeness in a fractured world.

The exhibition draws its name and conceptual foundation from physicist David Bohm’s theory of the implicate order, an underlying field in which all things are internally related and arise from a deeper, undivided whole.

In this light, Lee’s artworks become portals into a deeper field of unity, where dualities such as light and shadow, intellect and emotion, self and other, are not contradictions but parts of a greater continuum.

In an age where fragmentation defines much of our lived experience, where imagination is often separated from intellect, the individual from the collective, and humanity from nature, Lee’s art invites reflection and reconnection. Her pieces are born from cycles of creative destruction: layers of material, thought, and memory are built up, torn down, and reassembled. Discarded fragments find new life, offering viewers a sense of transformation and renewal.

Visually rich and texturally complex, Lee’s works are shaped by intuition as much as by intention. Each piece captures a paradoxical truth, holding both sorrow and beauty, fracture and light, while gesturing toward a more compassionate and interconnected way of seeing the world.
